Requirements
- Windows desktop
- A UniFi Protect console (on a UniFi OS router/gateway or a standalone NVR) with a local API key
- Network access from the utility to that Protect console (same LAN, router- or NVR-hosted)
- Optional: a local UniFi username and password, for camera enrichment (IP, model, resolution/fps, snapshot status)
- A per-camera recovery password, to enable anonymous snapshot and build snapshot URLs
What each output needs
Stream URLs and snapshot URLs are separate passes with different credentials. Here's what each one uses:

Credentials stay on your machine. Nothing is sent anywhere but your own Protect console, and the app collects no telemetry. Keys are held for the session only unless you choose to save a site, in which case they're stored on that PC encrypted with Windows DPAPI (see the FAQ).
FAQ
- Does this need a Crestron system to be useful?
- No. It outputs standard RTSPS and snapshot URLs, which drop into any control system's native camera page. Crestron Home is the primary use case, but it's not required.
- Does my API key ever leave my machine?
- No. The utility talks directly from your machine to your Protect console over your local network, and nothing is sent to SynDrivers. By default the key is held in memory for the session only. If you choose to save a site, the key is stored on that PC encrypted with Windows Data Protection (DPAPI), readable only by your Windows account, and you can delete it at any time.
- Do streams and snapshots use the same credentials?
- No, and that's the main thing to know. Stream URLs come from your local API key. Optional camera details (IP, model, resolution) come from a local UniFi login. Working snapshot URLs need each camera's recovery password, which you use to turn on anonymous snapshot. The utility walks you through each.
- Is there a paid version?
- The utility itself is free. It's also the setup companion for the paid UniFi Protect driver suite, once that ships.
